Background

The Greenwich Academy of Music and Drama Ltd was established in 2006 as an organisation through which to run performing arts ensembles, holiday courses and education workshops. We took under our umbrella the Greenwich Youth Band, which has been running for nearly 25 years, and the Greenwich Wind Ensemble, which is over 10 years old. We use these groups as our inspiration and model for all new ensembles, and hope to build on their success in the future.

We are a non-profit making company limited by guarantee, and are in the process of applying for charitable status. We aim to provide all members with an experience which is positive, friendly, inspiring and above all of high artistic quality.

We run a range of ensembles for wind, brass, percussion, string players, and singers during term-time and in the holidays. A range of ensembles/groups based on age and ability provide a clear pathway for each individual's progression as their skills and knowledge develop.
